Acceptable Use Policy
What you may and may not create with TattooMaker’s AI tattoo tools, how we moderate prompts, photos and generated images, how to report content, and how we enforce the rules.
Last updated: 2026-10-05
TattooMaker (“TattooMaker”, “we”, “us”) provides AI tools that generate original tattoo designs. This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) applies to everything created, uploaded, stored or shared through tattoomaker.org, and sets out our content standards, how we moderate, how to report content and how we enforce these rules. By using TattooMaker you agree to this Policy, which forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Scope
This Policy covers every kind of content on TattooMaker:
- Prompts — the ideas and instructions you type into the generator and other AI tools.
- Uploaded photos — photos you upload for photo to tattoo, cover-up designs or AI try-on.
- Generated images — AI-generated tattoo designs, HD refinements and edited photos.
- Shared designs — designs you choose to share through a public link.
2. Prohibited content
TattooMaker is built to be safe for all ages. You may not use it to generate, upload or share any of the following six categories of content:
- Pornography / NSFW content — nudity, sexual or sexually suggestive imagery of any kind, including implied nudity, fetish content and sexualised poses.
- Violence / gore — graphic violence, blood, wounds, mutilation, torture, corpses, and imagery that glorifies or encourages self-harm or suicide. Symbolic motifs such as daggers or skulls without gore are allowed, as are awareness symbols like the semicolon.
- Hate speech — hate symbols, extremist insignia and slogans (including coded numbers), slurs, and content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- Child-unsafe content (CSAM) — any sexual content involving minors, any content that sexualises or endangers children, and photos of children’s bodies.
- Deepfakes / impersonation — the likeness of real, identifiable people such as celebrities, politicians and other public figures, and any content that impersonates a real person, brand or organisation.
- Copyright / trademark infringement — copyrighted characters, brand logos, trademarks, sports crests and other protected works you don’t have the rights to.
2.1 Zero tolerance
The following are actioned immediately, lead to a permanent ban and may be reported to the authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where required by law:
- Child sexual abuse material or any sexual content involving minors.
- Content that promotes or facilitates terrorism, violent extremism or mass violence.
- Content inciting genocide or ethnic hatred.
- Non-consensual sexual or intimate imagery of real people, including deepfakes.
2.2 Other prohibited conduct
- Uploading photos of other people without their permission, or photos you don’t have the right to use.
- Trying to get around our safety systems — for example with misspellings, coded words or “jailbreak” prompts.
- Passing AI-generated designs off as hand-drawn human work where that matters, for example when selling them.
- Automated or bulk use of the service, reselling access, or generating spam.
- Anything illegal where you live or where we operate.
3. How we moderate
Every AI request on TattooMaker passes through several automated checks before anything is generated or shown, with provider safety systems underneath.
3.1 Automated review
- Prompt check, before generation — every prompt is screened on our servers against a blocklist that we update continuously (it also catches spaced-out and look-alike spellings), and then by a semantic safety model that reads the intent of the request. Blocked prompts never reach an image model and never use credits.
- Photo check, on upload — photos you upload for photo to tattoo, cover-ups and AI try-on are reviewed by an image safety model before any image model sees them.
- Output check, before display — every generated image is reviewed by an image safety model before it is shown to you or saved. An image that fails is discarded and the credits for it are returned.
- Provider safety systems — the image models we use (see AI models we use) run their own safety filters, which stay switched on.
- Safety models — prompt and image review uses Google’s Gemini Flash model with our own policy instructions.
3.2 Human review and records
- Blocked requests, safety-model verdicts and user reports are logged and reviewed by our team.
- Reported designs are reviewed by a person before any further action is taken.
- We keep moderation records for at least 12 months.
3.3 Severity levels
- L1 — Critical (child safety, terrorism): blocked automatically; permanent ban; reported where required.
- L2 — High (sexual content, graphic violence, hate, deepfakes): blocked automatically; content removed; account paused or suspended.
- L3 — Medium (copyright or trademark issues, attempts to bypass filters): blocked or removed; warning.
- L4 — Low (borderline content reported by users): reviewed; removed if it breaks this Policy.
4. Reporting
Report any design or behaviour that breaks this Policy, anything involving child safety, or a design that infringes your own rights.
- Report button — every shared design page has a “Report this design” link. A reported design is taken down from its public link immediately while we review it.
- Email — send the link and a short description to support@tattoomaker.org.
- Copyright — follow our DMCA policy.
We keep the identity of people who report confidential, review every report on its merits, and act on reports that are deliberately false or abusive.
5. Response times
- L1 — Critical: first response and resolution within 24 hours.
- L2 — High: first response within 2 business days, resolution within 5 business days.
- L3 / L4: first response within 5 business days, resolution within 10 business days.
A reported shared design is removed from its public link automatically and immediately, before review.
6. Enforcement
Depending on how serious a violation is and whether it is repeated, we may:
- Block the request — the prompt, photo or image is rejected and no credits are used.
- Remove content — delete a design or disable its share link.
- Pause AI features — repeated blocked requests pause AI features on the account for 24 hours automatically.
- Suspend the account — temporarily or permanently, with remaining credits forfeited where the violation is serious.
- Report to authorities — for zero-tolerance violations, and cooperate with lawful investigations.
7. Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, email support@tattoomaker.org within 30 days of the decision with your account email and what happened. Someone who wasn’t involved in the original decision will review it within 10 business days and reply with the outcome.
8. Changes to this Policy
We update this Policy as our tools and the law change. We’ll post the new version here with a new date and announce material changes on the site at least 15 days before they take effect. Continuing to use TattooMaker after that means you accept the updated Policy.
